An enthusiast has unveiled the first transparent iPhone Air – a custom mod revealing its inner design
YouTuber Phone Repair Guru set out to recreate the elegance of the ultra-thin iPhone Air seen in Apple’s translucent presentation renders.
In theory, the process sounded simple – just strip the paint from the back cover. In reality, it required removing the MagSafe coil and the metal frame inside the camera plate that holds the flash and protective glass.
He admitted that the most nerve-wracking part was reassembling the phone. To preserve the precise position of the coil magnets, he attached them to an external MagSafe charger, while the flash and camera cover had to be glued directly to the glass.
To his relief, everything powered on perfectly – wireless charging, flash, and camera all worked as intended. Satisfied with the result, Repair Guru called the Air “the most beautiful iPhone on the inside.”
