Apple has reintroduced Liquid Glass in the fourth beta of iOS 26.
In the previous beta, Apple had reduced the interface’s translucency so drastically that many users thought the company had abandoned the new Liquid Glass design altogether – but it was far too soon to panic.
With the fourth beta, designers have found a balance between the fluid, glass-like look and clear text readability. Notifications have regained their original transparency, and now, as you scroll through them, the lock screen wallpaper subtly darkens for better contrast.
Navigation menus in the Photo Gallery, App Store, and Apple Music have become even more transparent, while the camera mode slider is no longer fixed at the center – it now smoothly moves from left to right.
It’s still a beta, of course, and Apple has plenty of time to refine the remaining details before the final release. The wait won’t be long – iOS 26 is expected to roll out in mid-September for all iPhones starting from the 11 series.
