New emojis are coming to Unicode, but they won’t appear in iOS 26 right away

A treasure chest, a dolphin, a trombone, a killer whale, a yeti, a landslide, a root cane, a Sims-style fight emoji, a ballerina, and a first-day-of-vacation face will all be included in the Unicode 17.0 standard this fall.

New emojis are expected to arrive in spring 2026. With iOS 26 set to introduce expanded emoji-mixing options through Genmoji, this update will be a fun and welcome addition to the growing emoji collection.
